How to invite someone to your XBASE workspace
Step by step to invite a team member to the XBASE workspace by email, choose their role and keep track of the invite.

Invite someone from your team to the workspace by email, already with the role that defines what they can do. People who already have an XBASE account join right away; people who don't get an invite to create an account.

What you need
- The Manage members permission in the workspace. Among the built-in roles, only Administrator has it.
- The email the person will use in XBASE. They need to sign in with that same email.
- Knowing which role to give. What each role can do is in Workspaces, members and roles.
Step by step
Open the workspace menu
At the bottom of the sidebar, click the workspace name. Make sure it's the right workspace: if it isn't, click the right one in the Workspaces list and open the menu again.
Click Invite
The Workspace members window opens. Another way: on the Workspaces screen, open the workspace and go to the Members tab.
Type the email
In the Invite people block, leave Email selected and type the person's email.
Choose the role
In the Role selector, choose the person's role. XBASE suggests Editor. Only the roles you're allowed to give appear.
Send the invite
Click Send invite.
- If the person already has an XBASE account, you'll see "User added to the workspace successfully!". They're already a member and get an email letting them know.
- If the person doesn't have an account yet, you'll see "Invite sent successfully!" and the invite goes to the Pending invites tab.
Track the invite
In the Pending invites tab, each invite has three actions:
- Copy link: copies the invite link, to send through another channel (for example, WhatsApp);
- Resend email: sends the email again;
- trash icon: cancels the invite.
What to expect
People who already had an account show up in Members right away, with the chosen role, and get the email "You've been added to the workspace", with the Open workspace button. The new workspace appears in the list in their workspace menu.
People who didn't have an account get an email with the Accept invite button. The link opens the XBASE sign-up page. When they create the account with the same email as the invite, they join the workspace with the chosen role. The invite is valid for 7 days.
