Campaign assistant: build, optimize and diagnose Meta ads
The assistant reads the Meta account: history overview, campaign built and created paused, X-ray with suggestions and traffic or sales diagnosis.
Updated on
The campaign assistant, in Ads, reads the customer's Meta ad account and does the heavy lifting: it builds the campaign from what has already worked, points out what to pause and where to raise budget, tells you whether the problem is in the traffic or in the customer service and writes the reply to the customer. You review and decide: a new campaign is created paused and every change to a campaign that is already running asks for confirmation.
Where to find it
Create campaign: the Create campaign button in Overview (top right) or in the Campaigns tab. It opens a page in steps: Meta Account, Starting point (from the account history or from scratch), Objective and Build and review. You can go back to any step already done, and the link opens on the same step. The campaign is created paused.
Diagnostics: Optimize what is running (X-ray), Customer complaining and Scale the winner are in the Audit tab, under Assistant diagnostics (Meta).
What you want to do
Choose the account (the ad accounts from the Meta connection) and an action:
| Action | What the assistant does |
|---|---|
| Create campaign | reads the whole history and builds the campaign for the chosen objective from the champion creative |
| Optimize what is running | X-ray of the active campaigns with suggestions to apply |
| Customer complaining | diagnoses whether the leak is in the traffic or in sales |
| Scale the winner | scaling plan for the campaign that delivers the most within the target |
| Start from scratch | for an account with no history: you answer and the assistant builds it, with a Reels from the Studio |
In Create campaign, the Objective can be WhatsApp messages, Instant form, Website leads or Website sales.
Account overview
Since the first campaign: how much was spent, how many campaigns, the result and the cost per result of each objective (conversations, leads, sales, clicks), the best audience (gender and age range with the lowest cost), the region that brought the most results and the champion creative (the lowest-cost one among those that brought at least 3 results). Campaigns that were already deleted count in the history.
Campaign created, always paused
The assistant uses the champion ad's ad set for the objective as a template: the same destination (WhatsApp, form or website), the same page and the same pixel, its region, with the age and gender of the best audience. Up to 3 ads go in (the champion and the next best ones), with the same media and the copy rewritten by AI for the chosen persona (Studio tab → Personas), following the Studio's rules and banned terms.
Review the name, the Daily budget and each ad's copy, uncheck what you don't want and click Create paused campaign. Everything stays paused in the customer's account: nothing runs until someone activates it in Meta Ads Manager (the link is on the screen). A boosted post goes in as is, without changing the copy.
X-ray and scaling
- Pause ad: cost per result 2 times or more the campaign's (or no result after spending 3 times that cost), always leaving another ad active.
- Raise budget: campaign out of learning, with at least 5 results, cost within the target and low frequency: plus 30%.
- Lower budget: cost at double the target: minus 30%.
- Everything else shows under just watch, with the reason.
The target is the one in Creatives → Indicators (cost per lead). Without a target, the assistant compares with the account average over the last 90 days and says so in the text. Apply goes through the same change control as the Alerts tab (it stays in the history, with a 50% limit per budget change). In Scale the winner, the first step (plus 20%) also has Apply; the others are the plan for the next days.
Customer complaining: traffic or sales
The assistant crosses what Meta delivered in the period (results and cost) with the conversations that came from the ads in the CRM: how many were answered, how many were ignored and the time to 1st reply (median; any reply from the company counts: AI agent, team or automation).
| Verdict | When |
|---|---|
| Sales | cost within the target, but more than 10% of conversations unanswered or 1st reply over 15 minutes |
| Traffic | cost 30% above the target |
| Both | both things |
The Ready-to-send reply only cites measured numbers; use Copy reply.
Start from scratch
Answer what the company does, the offer, the city and the radius, the age, the gender and the daily budget. The assistant builds the audience and writes the copy. Then choose the Facebook page, the WhatsApp linked to it (or the landing page and the pixel) and a ready Reels from the Studio: the video goes to the account's library and the campaign is created paused.
Who can use it and limits
- View overview, X-ray, scaling and diagnosis: workspace members.
- Build a campaign: people who manage integrations.
- Create in the customer's account and apply: only a logged-in person who manages integrations; agents through MCP read (
ads_assistant_*tools) and can leave an X-ray or scaling suggestion as a draft, which a person approves in Alerts. - Meta sometimes replies "temporarily unavailable" when reading the whole history: use Try again.
